Chyulu Hills, Kajiado County, Kenya · Kenya
Camp in the Chyulu Hills — a string of young volcanic cones between Amboseli and Tsavo in southern Kenya, home to one of the densest lion populations in Kenya in a private conservancy shared between the Maasai and Ol Donyo Lodge — for a walking safari across the perfect green volcanic hills above the Tsavo plains. The largest lava tubes in the world run beneath the Chyulu Hills; Leviathan Cave is 2.5 km long and 50 m deep. Kilimanjaro is visible on the horizon. The area is one of the most beautiful and least visited parts of the Kenyan bush.
