Overview
Walk Sweden's Kungsleden (King's Trail) — 440 km from Abisko to Hemavan through Swedish Lapland — in sections: the classic northern section from Abisko to Kebnekaise (Sweden's highest peak at 2,111 m, reachable on a day ascent from the hut) to Saltoluokta is 4 days; the full trail is 20+ days. The midnight sun illuminates the fell tundra and birch forest in June and July; autumn colours transform the landscape orange in September. STF mountain huts are spaced every day's walk; sleeping bags required. Reindeer herds and occasional wolverine sightings accompany the walk.
