Overview
Trek the Cordillera Real — the principal Andean range above La Paz, containing 600 summits above 5,000 m — on a 5-7 day circuit linking the high valleys between Huayna Potosi (6,088 m), Condoriri, and Chearoco along the Mururata route. The circuit visits Takesi, Choro, and Yunga Cruz trails that descend from glacier altiplano into subtropical valleys in remarkable single-day transitions. La Paz at 3,640 m provides the acclimatisation base. The Bolivian Andes remain far less commercialised than the Peruvian equivalents; guides and porters are available but not mandatory.
