Surf the consistent breaks of Sri Lanka's west and south coasts during the northern hemisphere winter season — Hikkaduwa, Weligama, and Arugam Bay offer accessible beach breaks for beginners and intermediate surfers alongside reef breaks for experienced wave riders. Arugam Bay on the east coast is active April to October; the west and south coasts are best November to April.
