Overview

A quieter alternative to the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Mardi Himal Trek leads up a narrow ridge between the Modi Khola and Mardi Khola rivers to a high camp at 4,500 m with direct views of the Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhre. The trail receives far fewer trekkers than neighbouring routes and passes through rhododendron forests and high alpine meadows. A new tea house trail makes it feasible without tents. Pokhara is the gateway; the trek is typically completed as a 5-6 day loop.
