Overview
Madagascar has been isolated from Africa for 88 million years and has evolved an entirely unique fauna including over 100 lemur species found nowhere else on Earth. The Andasibe-Mantadia National Park near Antananarivo contains indri lemurs whose haunting territorial calls echo through the forest at dawn. The Ankarana Tsingy de Bemaraha reserve presents a surreal landscape of razor-sharp limestone pinnacles rising 70 metres from the forest floor.
