The great wildebeest migration is the largest movement of land animals on earth — 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 400,000 gazelle circling the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem in a year-round cycle. The river crossings at the Mara River, when thousands of wildebeest plunge through crocodile-infested water, are among the most dramatic wildlife spectacles anywhere.
