Ski tour around the Jungfrau massif in the Bernese Oberland — the trio of Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau (4,158 m) dominating Europe's most celebrated mountain horizon — on routes that link the Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen valleys through the Lauterbrunnen Breithorn and Schilthorn high plateaux. The Jungfraujoch (3,454 m) train station provides an unmatched high-altitude starting point. Tour routes are well-documented and guided operators are numerous; the avalanche risk requires daily checking. The views of the north face of the Eiger from touring terrain above Grindelwald are spectacular.
