Overview
The Haute Route des Pyrenees follows the crest of the mountain chain from the Atlantic at Hendaye to the Mediterranean at Banyuls-sur-Mer, staying as high as possible on the frontier ridge between France and Spain. The 840-kilometre route crosses 48 high passes and traverses the remote Ariege, Andorra, and Catalan sections that even Pyrenean regulars rarely explore. This is the Pyrenean grand traverse.
