Overview
Combining the Laugavegur trail with the Fimmvorduhals extension from Thorsmork to Skogafoss creates Iceland's finest multi-day trekking experience, crossing a complete cross-section of the island's extraordinary geology. The Fimmvorduhals crosses directly over the 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption lava field still steaming in places, before descending 1,000 metres through 20 named waterfalls to the black sand beach at Skogafoss. The total route covers 90 kilometres over six days.
