Overview
The GR11 Transpirenaica traverses the full length of the Spanish Pyrenees from the Mediterranean at Cabo de Creus to the Atlantic at Hondarribia, covering 820 kilometres entirely on the Spanish side of the watershed. The Catalan Pyrenees section through the Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park passes through glacial lakes surrounded by 3,000-metre granite peaks. This is a less-crowded alternative to the Haute Route Pyrenean on the French side.
