Labuan Bajo · Indonesia
Komodo Island in the Indonesian archipelago is home to the world's largest lizard, the Komodo dragon, which reaches 3 metres in length and hunts deer, pigs, and occasionally humans using venom-laced saliva. Trekking the island's three routes with a park ranger allows close encounters with these prehistoric predators in their natural habitat. The surrounding Komodo National Park waters contain some of the most biodiverse coral reefs in the world, with manta ray cleaning stations at Manta Point.
