Overview
The GR20 crosses Corsica from Calenzana to Conca along the island's granite spine, widely regarded as Europe's toughest long-distance trail. The route traverses jagged ridgelines above 2,000 metres, scrambles over polished rock slabs, and passes through chestnut forests and maquis scrubland. The northern section through the Cirque de la Solitude was re-routed after a 2015 rockfall but remains technical and demanding.
