Cradle Mountain · Australia
The Overland Track crosses the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair over 65 km and 6 days, through alpine moorland, glacial lakes, ancient Huon pine forests, and the summit of Mount Ossa (1,617 m), Tasmania's highest peak. The walk is genuinely remote — no road access for the central 5 days. Side trips to Barn Bluff, Pelion West, and the waterfalls of the Narcissus River add days and rewards.
