Milngavie · United Kingdom
Scotland's first and most famous long-distance path runs 154 km from Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William beneath Ben Nevis. The route passes Loch Lomond's wooded eastern shore, crosses the bleak Rannoch Moor, descends through the glens of Glencoe, and finishes in the shadow of Britain's highest mountain. Midges from June to August are genuinely terrible. The Ceilidh at the end makes up for everything.
