Chamonix · France
The Walker's Haute Route covers 180 km and 12,000 m of ascent between two of the Alps' most iconic towns, staying high on the ridgelines between the Swiss and French Alps. The route passes through the Val d'Hérens, crosses the Col de Torrent, and descends to Zermatt with the Matterhorn pyramid filling the final day's horizon. This is a serious mountain trail — navigation skills required.
