Dubbed the finest walk in the world since 1908, the Milford Track threads 54 km through Fiordland National Park from the head of Lake Te Anau to the world-famous Milford Sound. The route passes through ancient rainforest, crosses the MacKinnon Pass at 1,154 m, and descends to the Sutherland Falls — New Zealand's tallest at 580 m.
