Overview

Cat-skiing is heli-skiing's calmer, deeper sibling, and the Monashees are its spiritual home. From a timber lodge high above Sugar Lake near Cherryville, a snowcat shuttles twelve of you into old-growth glades that catch the wettest storms in interior BC and dry them into cold smoke. Ten to fourteen runs a day, 1,000m descents, and nobody else's tracks all week — the cat simply moves to the next drainage. The rhythm is the luxury: ski until your legs give out, then hot tub, enormous dinners, and the guides' evening briefing on where tomorrow's snow is hiding. Interior BC's snowpack carries persistent weak layers most winters; terrain choice is exactly what you are paying the guides for, and they are conservative in the right ways. Fly to Kelowna, take the operator's transfer to the Cherryville staging area, then ride the cat up to the lodge. Book twelve months ahead — January and February weeks sell out first, often to returning groups.
