Churchill, Manitoba, Canada · Canada
Churchill, Manitoba is the polar bear capital of the world — each autumn, hundreds of bears congregate along Hudson Bay waiting for the sea ice to form. Specially designed Tundra Buggy vehicles take small groups onto the frozen tundra to observe bears at close range in complete safety. The season runs late October to mid-November. Northern lights are frequently visible at night. Churchill is also a beluga whale destination in summer (June-August) when thousands of belugas fill the Churchill River estuary.
