Auyuittuq National Park, Canada · Canada
Auyuittuq National Park on Baffin Island is one of the few places on earth where trekkers can walk at the base of near-vertical granite walls over 1000 metres high in the complete Arctic wilderness. Thor Peak at 1675m has the world's greatest purely vertical drop of 1250 metres, and the Akshayuk Pass connects Pangnirtung fjord to Davis Strait through the park's glaciated core. Polar bear territory and permanent ice guarantee a serious expedition.
