Overview
Ben Nevis in winter is a genuinely serious mountaineering environment, with the summit plateau experiencing some of the worst weather in Britain. The tourist path becomes an artic slog in full winter conditions, while the north face presents Grade III and IV ice and mixed climbing routes that rival Alpine conditions.
