Marahau · New Zealand
The Abel Tasman Coast Track is New Zealand's most popular Great Walk, and kayaking the 51-kilometre coastal route past golden sand beaches, granite headlands, and fur seal colonies allows camping on beaches inaccessible to walkers. The combination of sea kayaking and coastline hiking creates a flexible itinerary across the track's three to five days. The Tonga Island Marine Reserve at the northern end of the track protects the largest New Zealand fur seal colony in the South Island.
