Overview
The Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is the world's largest salt flat at 10,582 square kilometres, sitting at 3,656 metres on the Altiplano and creating a mirror reflection of the sky in the wet season that makes the horizon disappear. The surrounding Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve contains the Eduardo Avaroa volcanoes, blood-red Laguna Colorada flamingo lake, and the steaming Sol de Manana geysers at 4,850 metres. This is one of South America's most extraordinary landscapes.
