Mount Kinabalu in Sabah is the highest peak in Southeast Asia at 4,095 metres and one of the world's most accessible high-altitude climbs, requiring no technical equipment but significant fitness for the two-day ascent and descent. The summit plateau of Low's Peak provides views over the South China Sea and the Borneo jungle below. The mountain has unique plant communities including carnivorous Nepenthes pitcher plants found only on its slopes.
