Nazca · Peru
The Nazca Lines in southern Peru are geoglyphs drawn by the Nasca culture between 500 BCE and 500 CE, visible in their true form only from the air. Light aircraft flights over the hummingbird, spider, astronaut, and condor figures, each hundreds of metres across, provide the most mysterious and intriguing overhead views on Earth. The surrounding Atacama-like desert plateau offers multi-day trekking to the ancient Cahuachi ceremonial complex.
