Overview
The Cairo to Cape Town cycling route is considered the greatest cycling challenge in Africa, covering over 12,000 kilometres through ten countries from the Pyramids to the Cape of Good Hope. The route passes through the Nubian desert, Ethiopian highlands, East African Rift Valley, and Malawian lakeshore before entering southern Africa. The Tour d'Afrique organised race attracts over a hundred cyclists annually, but independent riders have their own extraordinary experience.
