Overview
The Cordillera Real forms the spectacular eastern backbone of the Bolivian Andes, with seventeen peaks above 5,000 metres accessible from La Paz. The Condoriri Circuit passes beneath hanging glaciers and electric-blue glacial lakes before crossing the high ridge at 5,000 metres with panoramic views toward the Amazon basin. Bolivian mountaineering culture is concentrated here, with numerous 6,000-metre peaks accessible to acclimatised trekkers.
