Overview
The Cordillera Huayhuash circuit is widely considered the world's finest mountain trekking circuit, orbiting a compact massif of seven peaks above 6000m including Yerupaja at 6635m, the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere. The 12-day circuit crosses nine passes above 4500m through a landscape of turquoise lakes, hanging glaciers, and high puna grassland that changes character daily. The remoteness and altitude make this a serious high-altitude undertaking.
