Overview
Aconcagua (6,961 m) is the highest peak in the Americas and the highest summit outside Asia — a non-technical ascent by the Normal Route but requiring full acclimatisation, high-altitude camping at four camps, and 18+ days on the mountain including weather days. The Horcones Valley approach from Mendoza is straightforward; the mountain is a serious altitude undertaking with storms that can pin teams at Camp 3 for days. The summit view from the Roof of the Americas is earned.
