Overview
Trollfjord is perhaps the most dramatic fjord in Norway — 2 km long and barely 100 m wide, enclosed by vertical walls of gabbro rising 1,000 m on each side, accessible only by boat. Kayaking into Trollfjord at dusk, when the rock walls reflect in still water and sea eagles patrol the cliff tops, is one of the defining fjord experiences in Scandinavia. The base is Svolvær in the Lofoten Islands; week-long circumnavigation of Austvågøya island is the full circuit.
