Overview
The Drakensberg Grand Traverse is South Africa's ultimate trekking challenge — a 220 km high-route along the rooftop of the Drakensberg escarpment, largely above 3,000 m, crossing from Cathedral Peak to Bushman's Nek in around 14 days. The route traverses a UNESCO World Heritage Site of outstanding beauty, passing Bushman rock art galleries, soaring basalt pinnacles, deep valleys carved by waterfalls, and rolling highland meadows filled with proteas and crane lilies. A demanding and remote wild camp experience through one of Africa's most spectacular mountain ranges.
