Overview
Trek to Pikey Peak (4,065 m) in the Solu Khumbu region for what Sir Edmund Hillary called the best viewpoint for Everest. The route begins from Dhap and circles through Sherpa villages and rhododendron forests barely touched by tourism despite sitting an easy bus journey from Kathmandu. The circuit can be done in 6-8 days without the crowds of the Annapurna or Everest base camp trails. The village of Junbesi contains a fine monastery with views of Numbur (6,957 m).
