Overview

Trek into the Dzukou Valley — a high-altitude grassland and flower valley at 2,400 m on the Nagaland-Manipur border, known for the endemic Dzukou lily that blooms in spectacular masses in July. The valley is reached by a steep 4-hour ascent from either Viswema or Zakhama villages. Overnight camping in the valley shelter is part of the experience; the return next day via a different ridge gives panoramic views of distant Kohima. The Naga people who tend this landscape have one of the most distinctive warrior cultures in Asia.
