Overview

Sail the remote Kimberley coast of Western Australia — one of the last great wilderness coastlines on Earth — through horizontal waterfalls, 10-metre tidal ranges, sandstone gorges rising directly from the sea, and freshwater cascades accessible only by inflatable dinghy. The region supports the world's largest population of freshwater crocodiles and significant saltwater crocodile populations; swimming protocols are strict. The rock art spans two distinct traditions: the Wandjina figures at Raft Point, and the far older Gwion Gwion paintings, some of which have been dated to more than 17,000 years. The season is May to September only.
