Overview
A full crossing of the Greenland Ice Sheet on cross-country skis, pulling pulks loaded with 35-40 kg of food and camping equipment from the west coast to the east coast — approximately 500 km. The journey traverses featureless white plateau at elevations up to 2,800 m in near-continuous daylight. Crevasses are minimal on the central ice sheet but navigation in whiteout conditions requires compass and GPS discipline. Most parties take 25-30 days. This is one of the defining polar expeditions in adventure travel.
