Fairy Meadows beneath the Nanga Parbat Diamir face is one of the most accessible Himalayan high-altitude walking destinations, reachable by jeep track to Tato village and then a 3-hour walk through pine forest. The alpine meadow at 3300m looks directly at the 8126m south face of Nanga Parbat, the Killer Mountain, one of the most dramatic close-range views of any 8000m peak. The trek to Nanga Parbat base camp at 3600m adds an extra day of volcanic scenery.
