Overview
The Chadar Trek follows the frozen Zanskar River through a gorge so deep and remote that winter ice is the only road for weeks. Trekkers walk on translucent river ice listening to it crack and groan underfoot, sheltering in caves at night as temperatures plunge to minus 30. This is one of the world's most extreme and unique winter trekking experiences available to non-climbers.
