Overview
Cycling the Georgian Military Highway from Tbilisi through the Dariali Gorge and over the Jvari Pass at 2,395 metres to Stepantsminda provides one of the most dramatic cycling routes in the Caucasus. The Kazbegi massif with the Gergeti Trinity Church perched on a 2,170-metre rocky promontory creates the most photographed mountain view in Georgia. The descent through the Ananuri fortress fortress and the reservoir of the Zhinvali Dam adds historical and architectural depth.
