The Pacific Northwest Trail crosses 1,900 kilometres from Glacier National Park in Montana to Olympic National Park on the Pacific coast of Washington, traversing the Northern Rockies, North Cascades, and Olympic Mountains. The trail crosses the Continental Divide at Marias Pass and the rugged Pasayten Wilderness where grizzly bears, mountain lions, and wolverines share the backcountry. The final section through the Hoh Rainforest to the Pacific Ocean ends at Shi Shi Beach.
