Overview
The Greater Caucasus Range in northern Georgia contains some of the finest trekking terrain in Europe, with the Svaneti region's mediaeval defensive towers rising from permanent glacier-fed streams below 5,000-metre peaks including Shkhara at 5,193 metres.
