Overview

Kalymnos in the Dodecanese archipelago of Greece has become the most popular sport climbing destination in Europe, with over 3,500 bolted routes on the island's orange and grey limestone walls above the Aegean Sea. The climbing is world-class from beginner to 9a grade, and the traditional Greek culture of the island including sponge diving heritage and fresh octopus drying on taverna lines adds context. The tufa-draped roof of the Grande Grotta above Masouri gives the island its signature routes, with the island of Telendos filling the horizon behind your belayer.
