Overview
The Kimberley region of Western Australia contains some of the oldest exposed rock on Earth, with billion-year-old Precambrian sandstone forming spectacular gorges that glow orange at dawn. The El Questro Wilderness Park and Purnululu National Park Bungle Bungles with their beehive striped domes are the signature landscapes of this vast and ancient terrain. The Gibb River Road 660-kilometre unsealed track accesses remote gorge swimming holes only reachable by 4WD.
