Overview
The Annapurna Circuit is one of Nepal's great trekking classics, circumnavigating the Annapurna massif through dramatically contrasting landscapes from subtropical forests to Tibetan plateau. The Thorong La pass at 5,416 metres is the high point, and the descent to Muktinath with its eternal flame and sacred yatras completes one of the world's finest long-distance mountain journeys. The recently completed paved road has changed parts of the route but the high sections remain spectacular.
