Overview
The Pamir Highway from Osh to Dushanbe is one of the world's great cycling routes, climbing to over 4,600 metres on the roof of the world through Tajikistan's Gorno-Badakhshan region. The road runs alongside the Panj River that forms the border with Afghanistan, with small Afghan villages visible across the water. Wakhan Valley detours and Yashilkul lake are highlights of a route that has attracted adventure cyclists for decades.
