Overview
The island of Flores in eastern Indonesia is home to Kelimutu volcano, whose three summit crater lakes change colour independently from turquoise to blood red to black due to volcanic mineral activity. The trek from Bajawa through traditional Ngada villages with their megalithic stone altars and ancestral spirit houses leads to the coast through terraced rice fields. The Flores sea offshore contains some of the best diving in the world at the Komodo National Park.
