Overview
The Rolwaling Valley is one of Nepal's most remote trekking destinations, a sacred valley beneath Gauri Shankar at 7134m that the Sherpas consider the mythical home of the Yeti. The Tashi Lapcha pass at 5755m connects Rolwaling to the Khumbu Valley and is one of Nepal's most technically demanding trekking passes, requiring fixed ropes and glacier navigation. The valley's complete isolation from motorable roads preserves a Buddhist culture of exceptional authenticity.
