Overview
The Drakensberg Grand Traverse is a 220 km route along the summit plateau and escarpment of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg in South Africa, from Sentinel Peak to Cathedral Peak. The route stays mostly above 3,000 m on the Lesotho border, with the basalt escarpment dropping 1,000 m sheer to the KwaZulu-Natal foothills. San rock art shelters dot the lower valleys. Navigation in mist is difficult; this is for experienced mountain travellers.
